Since leaving The Seattle Times in 2005, company owner Sherry Stripling has written for websites ranging from retail travel adventures to financial management to nutrition, fitness and lifestyle. Her profiles of company principals – and of their clients – add credibility while helping organizations define their intentions and values.
Barnstorm connected to FirstandUnion
Some of the work has been through Barnstorm Media and some through Seattle’s FirstandUnion.com, where Sherry partners with Rick New and Molly Martin to develop websites, develop content strategy, write web copy, and conduct comprehensive content reviews.
On Sept. 27, 2009, both Sherry and Molly officially stretched again. This time as corporate story tellers and consultants for “lifestyle insights | real women. real life.”, a division of Robin Avni’s “lifestyle topics, insights and trends.”
From national newspapers to flying fish
Once described by an editor as being a rare combination of “common sense and uncommon sensitivity,” Sherry’s profiles have appeared in The Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, Self Magazine and The Seattle Times. She was honored twice with the Lowell Thomas Award for travel writing.
Her most recent projects include contributing to the Lifestyle Insights “10 Insights for 2010″; helping to re-do the navigation and information architecture for a Seattle icon at the Pike Place Market; writing a dozen profiles and blog entries for “lifestyle insights | real women. real life.”, guest teaching creative non-fiction classes, and writing client profiles for a financial newsletter. Her business partners say they rely on her keen eye for copy editing and proofreading.
